At the time this interface was design (the mid 1990's) this ground-breaking, high-bandwidth cable Internet service (up to 100 times faster than ISPs with traditional modems) required a dynamic, easily used, easily updated Web site that fit seamlessly with the national company's interface. The challenge lay in the service's speed, which allowed for nearly unlimited design possibilities coupoled with the latest web technology such as chat, streaming video and audio —and so called on every ounce of Spiral Design's creativity.

Spiral staff rose to the challenge—by exploring new possibilities in Java scripting, dynamic animation and hip, high-tech graphics that match the client's image. Among the key features is simplicity of use: clearly labeled tabs click through to cleanly designed pages, which succinctly present the service's advantages. The entire site is designed to handle the myriad changes that the client must make in a fast-changing industry.

Spiral's development team started the project with rough pencil sketches of the interface. From there, a working html model of the interface was built. Full color comprehensives were created and a working HTML model of the interface was quickly assembled and tested.

The benefit to Spiral? Company president Robert Clancy expresses it best: "By taking full advantage of the design possibilities in the project, our staff is now a full year ahead of the marketplace in terms of Web design and programming. |
